NYT: Telegram may start distributing Gram tokens within two months
Telegram informed the investors of its blockchain project that the first batch of Gram tokens will be sent out within two months, writes The New York Times, citing three investors who disclosed this information on condition of maintaining anonymity due to the current nondisclosure agreement. They also stated that the digital wallet for storage Gram will be available to 200-300 million users of the Telegram messenger all over the world. It is assumed that Gram can be used to make money transfers, as well as pay for goods and services in the application itself.
“Telegram recently announced that a test version of the Gram network will be presented within a week or two before the distribution of coins,” writes The New York Times.
According to the newspaper, October 31 Of 2019 is indeed indicated in the Telegram documents as a deadline for the launch of the network, so the company is trying to do everything possible to meet the stated deadlines.
“I have no idea what a miracle Telegram can to agree something with the regulators by the end of October ", - said analyst David Gerard.
Thus, the issue of Gram regulation remains open and gains particular relevance in the light of the criticism with which had to face Facebook after the announcement cryptocurrency project Libra. As The New York Times notes, "Telegram has always acted with a certain degree of disregard for the opinions of the authorities.".
