OKEx Korea Suspends ZCash and Dash Delisting
South Korean division of cryptocurrency exchange OKEx temporarily suspended the process of delisting two private assets, writes CoinDesk. As the exchange reported in this Thursday, the decision to end support for ZCash and Dash has been postponed for further consideration.
In September, OKEx Korea announced that it will delist the aforementioned cryptocurrencies, as well as Monero, Horizen and Super Bitcoin, as they make it difficult to collect and transfer user data in accordance with the requirements of the Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF). That said, Monero, Horizen and Super Bitcoin are still subject to delisting and will be removed from the platform today, October 10. The final decision on ZCash and Dash will be made after the completion of the audit for their compliance with legal standards.
Josh Swihart, VP of Marketing for Electric Coin Company, which is developing ZCash, said the firm has been working with OKEx since the announcement was published in September..
“ZCash fully complies with all FATF guidelines, including the data transfer rule. We work with OKEx and other members of the cryptocurrency industry in South Korea and are pleased to know that OKEx has decided to set aside additional time to further explore the possibility of maintaining ZCash support based on the new information, ”he said.
Coinbase previously eliminated ZCash access for its UK customers. Later, a similar decision was made by the South Korean exchange Bithumb.
